Xylella infested Rosmarinus from Portugal reached consumers

Xylella fastidiosa was recently discovered in Rosmarinus at a nursery in Portugal. Some of the plants had already made their way to stores in Denmark via the Netherlands. It seems like some plants had also been sold to consumers at their final destination.

Xylella fastidiosa was discovered in Rosmarinus in several different places across Portugal. The bacterium was found in public green spaces as well as at a nursery. This is what the DGAV, the Portugese equivalent of the Dutch NVWA (Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority), reported.

On the 7th of August, the DGAV reported that Xylella fastidiosa had been found in Luz de Tavira and Santo Estêvão (Algarve). This seemed to concern infected Rosmarinus plants at a nursery. On the 10th of August, the DGAV reported that Xylella fastidiosa had been found in Rosmarinus in Monte Abraão, Sintra region. This concerned Rosmarinus plants in a public green space.(..)
