Keukenhof is in april op zes dagen geopend voor maximaal 5.000 bezoekers. Het gaat om een pilot waarmee het kabinet wil testen hoe onder andere dierentuinen en attractieparken veilig open kunnen voor het publiek.
Keukenhof neemt deel aan de pilot in de categorie Doorstroomlocatie. Er worden ook pilots gehouden voor sport- en jeugdactiviteiten, culturele activiteiten en zakelijke bijeenkomsten. Keukenhof is op 9, 10, 11, 16, 17 en 18 april te bezoeken als onderdeel van een programma Testen voor Toegang van de overheid om Nederland weer geleidelijk te openen.
Testbewijs
Aanmeldingen lopen via de organisator van het evenement, in dit geval dus via Keukenhof. Bezoekers moeten met een testbewijs kunnen aantonen dat ze geen corona hebben. Dit testbewijs ontvangt men nadat men een coronatest heeft laten doen binnen 40 uur voorafgaand aan hun bezoek. Dat kan alleen op een aantal vastgestelde testlocaties in het land. Hieraan zijn geen kosten verbonden.
Op het parkeerterrein van Keukenhof is inmiddels ook een testlocatie geopend. Ook hiervoor geldt dat mensen via de website Testen voor toegang eerst een afspraak moeten maken, nadat ze een ticket voor het park hebben gekocht.
Geen uitzondering
Keukenhof-directeur Bart Siemerink pleitte recent nog tijdens een bezoek van staatssecretaris Keijzer om het bloemenpark op veilige wijze toch open te laten gaan. Een uitzondering voor Keukenhof binnen de coronamaatregelen is door het kabinet echter niet gemaakt.
Wel kan het park nu als onderdeel van de evenementenpilot in totaal 30.000 bezoekers ontvangen. Andere deelnemende parken zijn Artis, Avonturenpark Hellendoorn, Blijdorp, Madurodam, Ouwehands Dierenpark en GaiaZoo in Kerkrade. Ook de Kasteeltuinen Arcen en Landgoed Twickel in Enschede zijn komend weekend open als onderdeel van de pilot.
Vorig jaar kon Keukenhof als gevolg van de eerste lockdown het hele seizoen niet open. Ook dit jaar kon het park in maart de deuren niet openen, nu vanwege de verwachte derde golf. Het seizoen voor Keukenhof eindigt in principe op 9 mei.
