We’re passing through many different countries. But all those different stories and columns about the various countries seem to have some common themes. One of those is that in many places, growers are currently receiving good prices for their plants and flowers. The demand seems to be greater than ever before.
That’s the good news. There are also some developments within the floriculture sector that counterbalance the good news. In Egypt for example, several large flowers growers dropped out because all events and weddings were put on halt. In Brazil, plant and flower growers were surprised by frosty weather. Colombian, Ecuadorean and Kenyan growers, in turn, are still facing high freight costs. And European growers are facing high energy prizes.
