Investor buys majority share Morel Diffusion

The French investment fund Evolem has bought a majority share in the company Morel Diffusion. The cyclamen breeder from France is the first horticultural company in Evolem’s portfolio.

The centennial family business Morel Diffusion has been managed by the third generation. Olivier Morel, the CEO of the company who will remain in the company for 30%, is pleased with investor Evolem.

“Thanks to its know-how in development and external growth, we are able to accelerate our diversification and open new perspectives.”

As part of the operation Morel welcomes a new director general in the person of Eric Beaude. He is an agricultural engineer with more than 20 years of management experience in the agro-industry.

The Morel Diffusion company will keep its name, its production facilities and its teams.

Founded in 1919 by Pierre MOREL, the company is located in Fréjus on a production and research site of 3 ha, and employs around fifty people. Morel Diffusion researches, develops and produces cyclamen seeds, capturing a large share of the global cyclamen market. The company generates 90% of its turnover internationally, in more than 70 countries.
