A recent survey among florists in Italy shows that the quality of flowers is neglected. Lots of facts related to quality of cut flowers remain unclear to the. ‘Premium flowers’ can retain their place in the Italian market but deserve a quality treatment.
In Italy and many other European countries, the emphasis in the flower arranging courses is on creative skills in floristry. There is too little attention paid to the care and treatment of cut flowers. Much about quality and flower care remains unclear at the Italian florist.
Floweracademy.NL intends to change this in collaboration with Chrysal. They started the project ‘Premium Flowers’ with the title: ‘I Fiori premium meritano un trattamento di qualità’ or ‘Premium flowers deserve a quality treatment.’
To achieve this goal the project started a collaboration with Italian florist organizations, Dutch growers of premium flowers, suppliers and the trade fair Myplant.
At the Italian trade fair Myplant, in February 2017 in Milan, the central theme in the florist hall will be: I Fiori premium meritano un trattamento di qualità. Floweracademy.NL will give training on quality and flower care during the exhibition days.
