GreenTech will introduce a 3D-preview of greenhouses in the new Breeders Pavilion. The pavilion offers their visitors a unique opportunity to see the newest varieties of flowers and plants. The Breeders Pavilion is located on the trading floor in a real greenhouse with a surface area of 300 m2. It has been built and fully equipped by Hogervorst Tabben.
Because FlowerTrials and Vegetable Tours have joined forces, visitors will get a realistic picture of nurseries throughout the Netherlands through the use of virtual reality and 3D technology. Visitors can see, smell, and taste the new varieties and species. A chef will use the ingredients in appetizers, and visitors will take a tour through the greenhouse with virtual reality 3D glasses.
Visitors can also book a bus tour for visiting the actual nurseries. Tours can be booked online upon registering as a visitor of GreenTech or via Tour Booking. Companies which can be visited include Anthura, Bayer Crop Science, Van den Bos Flowerbulbs, Eminent Seeds, Hilverda Kooij, Schoneveld Breeding, and Sion.
‘There are a lot of horticultural events in the Netherlands in the second week of June. It’s an opportunity that growers from all over the world should not miss,’ says Mariska Dreschler, Event Manager at GreenTech. ‘We encourage our visitors to make the most of their visit to GreenTech and to visit the FlowerTrials participants as well as other events. Wherever possible, we offer help with transportation and other practical matters.’
GreenTech 2016 will take place on 14, 15, and 16 June in the Convention Centre RAI in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
