French consumers buy more French plants

French consumers have started more gardening and more buying online because of corona. And they are paying more attention to the origin of plants.

Grown in France is a favorite, as French market research is showing. The research was carried out among 2,000 French consumers, for horticultural organization Val’Hor and FranceAgriMer, the statistics office of the French Ministry of Agriculture.

71% of the consumers are saying that the French origin of plants is important, and they are looking at this when purchasing plants. This criterion increases with the age of the consumers; 77% of seniors think French grown is important.
