The European Union and the United Kingdom still haven’t reached a trade agreement. With Brexit happening on 1 January 2021, time is running out quickly. At an administrative level, some of the consequences for exports to the UK are known. Combined with possible import tariffs on flowers, it looks like exporting to the UK is going to be much more expensive.
Time is running out. The European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK) have a few months left to conclude a trade agreement. The EU and the UK want the deal to be finalised by October. What’s certain, is that the UK will no longer be part of the EU as per 1 January 2021. If there isn’t a deal by then, it will be a hard Brexit, as an extension of the transition period is out of the question. British prime minister Boris Johnson announced in June that such an extension is not an option for him and he let the deadline pass.
