The International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) invites the operators of Flower Auction Markets to attend the first meeting of the AIPH Flower Auction Markets Group taking place in Taichung, Chinese Taipei on 29-30 September 2017.
Flower Auction Markets have developed in different countries around the world to provide a mechanism for flower and plant growers to access the market.
According to AIPH it is, as the number of such auction markets have increased, clear that many auctions are facing the same issues and challenges as they respond to a developing market and globalization.
AIPH has taken the initiative to establish a forum that can be of use to flower auction market operators. The proposed group will bring together market operators to:
- Identify areas of common interest between flower auction markets and areas where information sharing would be beneficial.
- Develop an international network to enable increased international communication between auctions
- Discuss the future of flower auction markets and potential for international collaboration
Commenting on the event AIPH Secretary General, Tim Briercliffe said “AIPH is proud to be taking the initiative to bring together Flower Auction Market operators from around the world for the first time. Auction markets have helped many growers over the years in different countries and this event will enable them to share best practice and define a future that fits within a global market place.”
The meeting will take place alongside the AIPH Annual Congress to which Auction Market operators are also invited.
