International mail-order company Bakker is rapidly turning into an e-commerce business. They signed a contract with international parcel delivery company DPD for high speed delivery of plants.
The contract with DPDgroup deals next-day deliveries within a 700-km radius from Bakker’s premises in Lisse, the Netherlands. ‘If you order your product online with us before 6 p.m., we deliver it the following day’, explains Bakker CEO Erwin van Cooth in an interview with Floribusiness.
Exactly two years ago, in February 2018, the old Bakker went bankrupt. The new Bakker started soon afterwards with Van Cooth (who formerly worked for Dutch retail giant Wehkamp.nl) in charge. Bakker is changing into e-commerce and also handling online plant orders for retail giants internationally. Read all about this in the new Floribusiness magazine.
