The summer has been very changeable in Sweden, with lots of rain and quite low temperatures. Nonetheless, our stores did well; some even sold more than last year. The season didn’t really get going for a while due to the cold weather in spring, but once consumers started coming to the shop, they didn’t hold back.
We were lucky we’d ordered 90% of our assortment in advance; we would have been facing shortages otherwise. And our forecasts and actual sales were well aligned; the 10% that we had to purchase at higher prices didn’t cause too many problems. I’m sure we’ll continue to see some after-effects of the coronavirus pandemic for a while – positive effects, I mean. (..)
