Domein Oogenlust in Eersel organiseert samen met de Nederlandse Dahlia Vereniging op 11, 12 en 13 september de Dahlia Biënnale. Op de openingsdag wordt de ‘eigen Oogenlust Dahlia’ gedoopt.
Jaarlijks organiseert de Nederlandse Dahlia Vereniging de Nederlandse Kampioenschappen Dahlia kweken. Hieraan nemen ongeveer honderd liefhebbers en professionele kwekers deel. Tijdens de Dahlia Biënnale 2020 beoordeelt een jury de bloemen op kwaliteit, kleur en grootte. Naast de vazen met de gekeurde bloemen staan verspreid op het domein diverse objecten, gecreëerd met ruim 6.000 dahlia’s.
Eigen Dahlia
Vrijdagmiddag 11 september om 16.30 uur opent de burgemeester van Eersel, Wim Wouters, het event. Dan wordt ook de officieel benoemde ‘Oogenlust Dahlia’ gedoopt. Deze is volgens de statuten internationaal vastgelegd bij het CPVO (bureau voor plantenrassen) ter ere van het 40-jarig bestaan van Oogenlust.
De Dahlia Biënnale is op vrijdag 11 september te bezoeken van 13.00 tot 17.00 uur, op zaterdag 12 september van 10.00-17.00 uur en op zondag 13 september van 12.00 tot 17.00 uur.
