At the IPM in Germany, a new robot from Canada could be seen that can move pot plants.
Manufacturer Advanced Intelligent System (AIS) from Vancouver, Canada presented the BigTop at the international trade show in Germany: an autonomous system that can move pot plants. The system is modular built; the robot can also be used to monitor crops for example.
The robot is already in operation in Canada. Van Belle Nursery uses the BigTop to save manual labor. According to AIS, the robot can move 200 pot plants per hour, while an employee moves 150 per hour.
The BigTop means new competition for the pot robots of the American Harvest Automation and the French Instar Robotics.
